Kuntal Chowdhary, MD is a Sports Medicine fellow at NewYork-Presbyterian Columbia/Cornell and former Chief Resident at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). Her long-term research interests are in translational sports medicine focused on the development of precision medicine therapeutics and technological solutions. She previously research regenerative rehabilitation medicine, specifically platelet-rich plasma, under the mentorship of Dr. Fabrisia Ambrosio. Her current research interests include use of shear wave elastography in diagnosis of musculoskeletal injuries. Additionally, she has a strong interest in medical education, having previously spearheaded an ultrasound curriculum at her residency program. In addition to her research and educational endeavors, she enjoys serving in many leadership roles, including as the Secretary of the Resident/Fellow Council for the Association of Academic Physiatrists and co-Chair of the Resident & Fellow Association Committee at UPMC. Outside of her work and research life, she enjoys cooking vegetarian food, playing and watching sports, and travelling.
