Dr. Eapen is a physiatrist, researcher, and medical educator. He is currently the Chief of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the VA Greater Los Angeles Health Care System and is a Health Sciences Associate Clinical Professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
He has demonstrated exceptional leadership and has served in numerous roles of progressive responsibility across his career with the Veterans Health Administration. Prior to his current role, he was the Chief of the Polytrauma Rehabilitation Center, Site Director for the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Canter and Program Director for the Traumatic Brain Injury clinical fellowship at the South Texas Veterans Health Care System in San Antonio, Texas.
He has completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and is fellowship trained in Polytrauma/ Traumatic Brain Injury. Dr. Eapen is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Brain Injury Medicine. Dr. Eapen has received over $35 million in research funding and has received many professional awards and honors and has published numerous peer reviewed articles, abstracts, textbook chapters, and books.
Dr. Eapen is a physician-scientist whose research focuses on traumatic brain injury rehabilitation with specific interest in both pharmacologic and non-pharmacological management of post traumatic sequalae of all severities of brain injury.
