Manuel F. Mas completed his medical training in the University of Puerto Rico, School of Medicine. There, he also graduated from a residency program in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He completed fellowship training in Brain Injury Medicine at the University of Texas, McGovern Medical School in Houston, Texas. He was an attending physician at TIRR Memorial Hermann in Houston, Texas where he followed patients suffering from brain injury and stroke in both inpatient and outpatient settings. He is now the Medical Director of the Trauma Rehabilitation Unit at the Puerto Rico Trauma Hospital and an assistant professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Puerto Rico, School of Medicine.
His research interests include disorders of consciousness, motor recovery following stroke and spasticity management.
