Joseph Burris, MD, Clinical Professor of PM&R at the University of Missouri. Dr. Burris has a background of Master’s work in Exercise Physiology/Kinesiology/Biomechanics at the University of Kansas, then Medical School at the University of Kansas, graduating in 1997. Following PM&R Residency training at the University of Missouri, Dr. Burris joined the clinical faculty at the University of Missouri in 2001. He has lectured locally, regionally, and nationally on the topic of amputee rehabilitation for many years of his academic practice. Dr. Burris was a recipient of a distinguished member award from the American Academy of PM&R in 2020. Dr. Burris is the Chair of PM&R for the University of Missouri School of Medicine, and the Medical Director of Rusk Rehabilitation Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
