Attending Physician; Consult Director; Assistant Prof.
Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center
I am an Assistant Professor in the in the Department of PM&R, College of Medicine, at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. I obtained my Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. I then completed my internship at Delaware County Memorial Hospital in Delaware County, PA and residency training at Case Western Reserve University/MetroHealth Rehab Institute, Ohio. I am a Diplomate of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR). Throughout my residency training I had a strong interest in musculoskeletal ultrasound and its benefits in improving patient care. As my passion for ultrasound has grown, I have been able to continue my formal ultrasound education yearly by attending extensive hands-on, interactive conferences. This has provided me with significant experience in ultrasound-guided techniques for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes which I am able to utilize in my clinics. My primary clinical inpatient and outpatient responsibilities and interests focus on addressing the medical and musculoskeletal functional needs of my patients, specifically from peripheral arterial disease. In addition, I was an invited guest speaker at the 2022 American College of Physicians Internal Medicine national conference where I presented on Neurologic Gait Dysfunction. I take pride as an educator of medical students, residents and fellows, and was named Teacher of the Year for the 2019-2020 and 2021-2022 Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation cycles, and received Exceptional Teacher Recognition by Graduate Medical Education in November 2020. In addition, I currently mentor minority physicians interested in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. As one of the current leaders of ultrasound and education in our department, I have successfully implemented informal hands-on bedside teaching and a formal yearly ultrasound course for the residents that focuses on the practical needs of all patients, including those with peripheral arterial disease.
