Staff Physician
Beaumont Hospital Taylor
Wendy A. Contreras, MD, Clinical faculty- PM&R Residency and Brain Injury Fellowship at Beaumont Hospital-Taylor, Michigan. I am one of six children and grew up in Norwich, Connecticut. My parents immigrated from Peru so I grew up in a "hispanic household", where there was a lot of love, good food and good music. My parents were and still are my biggest role models in life. I discovered the wonderful world of PM&R as a third year medical student and never looked back. I still am as passionate about PM&R as I was back then and I am thankful for that. I trained at Beaumont-Hospital Taylor for residency and at Carolinas Rehabilitation for brain injury fellowship training. I consider myself very lucky to have been a member of both teams, respectively, and will be eternally grateful for being given the opportunity to train at both places. I am married to my other half, Matt, and we have 2 dog sons together. I am an avid basketball player and fan (Go Uconn Huskies!). I also enjoy paddle boarding, hiking, spending time with family and friends, and discovering local breweries and restaurants.
