Dr. Slocum serves as the Director of Health Policy for the Harvard Medical School Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and the Associate Director of Quality for Spaulding Rehabilitation Network. She practices clinically seeing patients who have experienced spinal cord injury (SCI) or other causes of paralysis and is a co-investigator with the Spaulding-New England Regional SCI Model System and principal investigator for a Craig H. Neilsen Foundation-funded grant studying access to high-quality care for women with SCI. Dr. Slocum teaches medical students and residents at Harvard Medical School and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and publishes a weekly health policy news bulletin for clinicians, administrators, and executives across the Partners HealthCare system. She has served as a clinical consultant on national quality and payment policy initiatives.
