Ronald K. Reeves, MD is a subspecialty certified spinal cord medicine specialist at Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota, USA. He grew up in Essex, Connecticut in the United States, earned his B.A. degree from Brandeis University in Waltham Massachusetts and his M.D. degree from Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. He completed his PM&R residency at Mayo Clinic.
Dr Reeves holds the academic rank of Associate Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. He is also the Clinical Care Director for the Minnesota Regional Spinal Cord Injury Model System which is funded by the US National Institute of Disability Independent Living and Rehabilitation Research. Dr Reeves has served in several leadership roles including 1) Vice Chair of the Mayo Clinic Department of PM&R 2) The Mayo Clinic Inpatient Rehabilitation Medical Director 3) The Mayo Clinic SCI Medical Director, and 4) American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA) Board of Directors and Education Committee Chair. He co-chaired the development of ASIA’s International Standards eLearning Program (InSTeP) and oversaw the initial implementation of its eLearning Center. Dr Reeves is currently a member of both the ASIA and International Spinal Cord Society (ISCOS) Education Committees. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and has been recognized with numerous awards including 1) Presentation awards from ASIA, 2) Excellence in Teaching from the Mayo Medical School, 3) Mayo Clinic Service Excellence Award, 4) Mayo Clinic PM&R Teacher of the Year 5) Mayo Clinic Practice Innovation Award 6) Indian Spinal Cord Society Lifetime Achievement Award and 7) ASIA Distinguished Service Award.
