Dr. Sarah Eickmeyer is a graduate of Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago/Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois, where she served as a chief resident during her training. Afterwards, she worked for the Medical College of Wisconsin and the Zablocki VA Medical Center. Dr. Eickmeyer serves as Professor and Chair of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation for the University of Kansas School of Medicine and Clinical Service Chief for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Kansas Health System. Dr. Eickmeyer is also an Assistant Director in the University of Kansas Medical Alumni Learning Community Program. She previously served eight years as the Medical Director of Inpatient Rehabilitation and six years as the residency program director of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Kansas. She is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with subspecialty certification in Brain Injury Medicine, and by the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine. She has national volunteer roles in the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and the Association of Academic Physiatrists. Her clinical interests include stroke rehabilitation, spasticity management, electrodiagnostic testing, and medically complex rehabilitation. She lives in Kansas City, Kansas with her husband and three daughters.
