Kirsten Smayda is a cognitive psychology scientist by training, and has worked in the field of digital therapeutics for five years. She received her Bachelor's of Arts and Bachelor's of Science from Boston University, after which she pursued a Master's of Music in Music & Human Learning as well as a PhD in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin. During her PhD, Kirsten studied how music training can impact auditory cognitive processes in the brain such as category learning and the ability to hear in noisy environments, for which she received an NIA NRSA pre-doctoral grant. She joined Pear Therapeutics in 2018 as a Data Scientist, and was responsible for analysis, and data program development. Since joining MedRhythms, Kirsten utilizes her domain expertise in digital therapeutics and cognitive music psychology as a scientific leader and medical science liaison.
