Resident
Geisinger Health System PM&R Program
Annamarie Pontier, DO, is currently a PGY2 resident at Geisinger's Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Program. She completed her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at Temple University and pursued her medical degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Annamarie's journey, along with her partner specializing in medicine-pediatrics, led her to a unique path as they participated in the couples' match, ultimately securing a residency position at Geisinger. Her professional interests lie at the intersection of lifestyle and musculoskeletal medicine, with a particular focus on ultrasound-guided procedures.
Annamarie has been an active member of the AOCPMR (American Osteopathic College of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation) conference committee since her first year of medical school. Her commitment to the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation led her to join this committee, where she has been able to contribute her insights and support the committee's work. Even as a resident at Geisinger, Annamarie continues to serve on the committee, staying connected to the community and working to advance the field.
This innovative tool reflects her commitment to leveling the playing field for all aspiring healthcare professionals, especially those who are first-generation and may not have familial connections to rely on, by enhancing networking and fostering collaboration within the medical community.
