Resident Physician PGY3
Baylor College of Medicine PM&R Program
My name is Loc Lam, DO, a resident PGY3 at Baylor College of Medicine H. Bentaub Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (BCM PMR) I went to Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Georgia Campus for medical school. I am originally from Ben Tre, Vietnam, and I came to America around 11 years ago. I am a first-generation college and medical student. I went to undergraduate at Mercer University where I met my mentor Dr. Ha Vo, a biomedical engineer professor and an orthopedic surgeon, who got me involved with his international medical mission called Mercer on Mission to Vietnam (MOM-V). Since 2009, MOM-V has provided free universal prosthetics and orthotics to more than 10,000 underserved Vietnamese amputees and disabled patients throughout the Mekong Delta area. After working on several MOM-V trips, I became inspired and decided to pursue a career in medicine. In medical school, with my previous passion in helping amputees and disabled patients, I discovered and immediately fell in love with the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R). Ultimately, I matched into my dream field at fhe BCM PMR residency program.
