Abigail Joy Garcia (Abby) is a predoctoral fellow and third-year osteopathic medical student at the University of Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine. She is passionate about musculoskeletal medicine & lifestyle medicine, and she is currently serving as the Trainee Executive VP of Lifestyle Medicine Interest Group Development for the American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM). In 2022, she was granted the Donald A. Pegg Award by the ACLM as a young leader in the field of lifestyle medicine. She is pursuing a career in physiatry with the goal of bridging her passions for neuromusculoskeletal health and lifestyle medicine. Her professional interests include spasticity, gait, prosthetics, adaptive sports, osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM), and whole food plant-based nutrition. Abby continuously strives to be a servant leader in every phase of her training to positively impact her patients, colleagues, and attending physicians she works with. This mindset helps her unique approach to finding joy in her training to thrive in medicine. In her free time, she enjoys lap and distance swimming, crafting & DIY projects, watching baseball, and finding new plant-based restaurants.
