Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine
Born and raised in Richland, WA, Steve grew up with a passion for sports and health, and a curiosity about injuries. After high school he attended BYU where he was enamored with Anatomy and Physiology, and decided to become a Physical Therapist. After obtaining his bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, he then obtained a master's degree in physical therapy, and began his PT career in Wickenburg, AZ.
Steve flourished as a physical therapist obtaining extra certifications in manual therapy, spinal manipulation, and dry needling to provide the highest level of therapy to his patients. Steve owned and operated Champion Physical Therapy for 11 years, before he decided to change careers. In 2019 Steve began his new adventure to become a physician. He returned to his hometown and attended Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences.
He is excited about the opportunity to begin a new career as a physician, especially since he has chosen the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R). Steve's extensive history in physical therapy gives him a unique advantage with insights into assessment and treatments performed by therapists. His experience is invaluable as he is familiar with many clinical diagnoses and understands the needs of patients. He has excelled in academics and clinical work as a medical student, and has been self-motivated in performing research including presentation of a case study at the AAPM&R Annual Assembly, November 2023. He is excited to begin residency in PM&R in 2024.
