Medical Student
Medical College of Wisconsin
Jennifer Terrell, B.S., is an M.D. candidate at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW), class of 2025. Her interest in PM&R began as a physiatrist scribe after she graduated from college, and has continued to develop in medical school, as both co-President of her medical school's PM&R interest group and through her research on stroke survivors with the Center for Advancing Population Sciences (CAPS). Her work with CAPS was unique in that it enabled her to combine this enthuasiasm for PM&R with her prexisting interest in Social Determinants of Health (SDOH). Jen has always had an appreciation for understanding how one's environment and lived experiences shapes a person and their health. She studied discrimination with the Psychology Department at her undergraduate institution, UW-Madison, completed a minor in Global Health, and was a board member of a committee dedicated to addressing SDOH at MCW’s free clinic. With her current research, she has looked at how SDOH factors affect rehabilitation in the stroke population. She has also been able to combine her love of being active with volunteer activities for differently abled populations. She helped put on a tennis camp for those with special needs and has attended multiple adaptive sports activities. She hopes to pursue a PM&R residency and continue addressing SDOH in her future career.
