Zainab Shirazi, MD, is a Chief Resident in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at New York Presbyterian Columbia/Cornell. She is currently pursuing a fellowship in Sports Medicine and was recently awarded the AMSSM Foundation's Resident Scholarship Award for her dedication the field. She has a special interest in the use of regenerative medicine and ultrasound-guided interventions for enhancing performance and optimizing recovery.
Dr. Shirazi currently serves as the Chair of the Resident/Fellow Council for the Association of Academic Physiatrists. Throughout her training, she has also served as the national graduate student representative for ACSM's Exercise is Medicine committee. Her accomplishments include helping to launch Stanford's Lifestyle Medicine Initiative, emphasizing exercise as a key pillar of health. She holds personal training certifications in CrossFit and Extreme Performance Training (XPT), specializing in programs that improve overall functionality by building mental resilience and physical versatility.
Dr. Shirazi often spends her free time running, strength training, rock climbing, and exploring New York City’s hidden gems.
