Session Description: Burnout theoretical framework is based on demand-resource imbalance. If there is more work with less support, burnout is more likely to occur and physician retention is compromised.

Physiatrists are unique in this matter. We share a great passion to help our vulnerable population and strive to get our patients the best practices care and provide them the resources needed to optimize their function and quality of care. Having said that, resources are limited to our population along with an exhausting health care systems that makes physiatrists more prone to burnout.

Measuring physician wellbeing is a fundamental need for organizational success as it is needed to retain physicians within the institution hence improve the stability of that organization.

- Environmental: team dynamics, workflow and nursing retention
