Meniscus injuries represent a significant disease burden in the active patient. There are clear cases in which either non-operative or operative care is appropriate. However, there are also many cases in which it is unclear if non-operative or operative care is the most appropriate treatment option.
This session will familiarize the audience to the pathophysiology of meniscus injuries and to the non-operative and operative treatment pathways for meniscus injuries. We will use a case based format to cultivate a robust discussion of these pathways. After attending this session the attendee will have a clear understanding of the evidence based approach to the non-operative and operative care of meniscus injuries. The attendee will also leave with the tools to engage their patients in a nuanced conversation to best achieve their functional goals following a meniscus injury.
