Dr. Laura Malmut is an Attending Physiatrist at MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital and Assistant Professor at Georgetown University in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in Washington, DC. She graduated from medical school at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and completed her internship in internal medicine at Albert Einstein Jacobi Medical Center in The Bronx, New York. Dr. Malmut completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Northwestern University/Shirley Ryan AbilityLab. As a resident, she completed a two-year Medical Education Certificate Program through Northwestern University and received the Almost FAME-ous award as an acknowledgement for her contributions as an outstanding medical educator. She was granted the Sarah Baskin Award for Excellence in Research for her research on outcomes after acute stroke. Her current practices include general rehabilitation and academic medicine.
