Abana Azariah, M.D., an assistant professor at the McGovern Medical School at Houston, completed her Brain Injury Medicine fellowship at MossRehab, Einstein Healthcare Network in July 2019. She completed her residency at Baylor College of Medicine Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in July 2018. She received her medical degree in 2014 at St. George's University, School of Medicine and completed her internship in Internal Medicine at Jersey Shore University Medical Center the following year.
Dr. Azariah cares for inpatients recovering from neuromuscular conditions, traumatic brain injury, stroke, polytrauma, and complex medical diagnoses. She will be starting her care for outpatients with a focus on Concussion management. She works with and teaches PM&R resident physicians and medical students rotating at TIRR Memorial Hermann. Her hospital affiliations include TIRR/Memorial Hermann and Memorial Hermann Hospital-Texas Medical Center. She is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Association of Academic Physiatrists, and International Brain Injury Association.
Outside of work, she enjoys sports, spending time with her family in California and Texas and traveling.
