Resident
UCLA David Geffen SOM/ UCLA Medical Center/VA Greater Los Angeles Health
Ayana Taylor is a third year resident at the VA Greater Los Angeles/UCLA PM&R residency program. She is from Los Angeles, CA and received her medical degree from McGovern Medical School in Houston, TX. After a long internal debate over which speciality to choose, she was encouraged to check out PM&R midway through her third year of medical school and is glad to have chosen such a great field. With a passion for physical activity herself, she is driven to help patients get back to the activities that drive them. She loves learning about MSK, injury prevention, and utilizing ultrasound for treatment modalities. She plans to pursue sports medicine at the compeltion of her residency training.
Additionally, since first learning of social determinants of health and health disparities in college, she is passionate about improving health outcomes for minority communities. At the moment that looks like engaging with URiM trainees through mentorship within UCLA and engaging her residency class with lectures acknowleging areas of race based health inequities within the PM&R community.
For fun she enjoys being active and has recently gotten into hip hop dance and pickleball.
