Louisiana State University PM&R Program
Dr. Alpha Anders M.D. is a fourth-year resident at Louisiana State University's PM&R program. He played football and majored in Molecular Biology at Pomona College. His initial interest in PM&R stemmed from his personal rehabilitation experiences related to athletics. Prior to medical school, he joined Teach for America where he taught various science courses to middle and high school students for 5 years in South Los Angeles. He attended UC San Diego School of Medicine where he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honors Society. He is currently the LSU House Staff Association President and the American Academy of PM&R Physiatrist in Training Board Vice President. He will be starting a Pain Medicine fellowship at UC San Diego in 2024. Some of his interests in PM&R and pain medicine include opioid sparing interventional procedures, neuromodulation, regenerative medicine, and medical education.
