Allison Capizzi, MD is a brain injury medicine physiatrist practiciing at the VA Palo Alto Polytrauma center. She is an affiliated Clinical Assistant Professor at Stanford University. She provides care to patients in the consult, acute inpatient, residential, and outpatient settings. She currently serves as the Acting Medical Director for the Polytrauma Rehabilitation Center (PRC/CRC/SSP). She is the Site Director for the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation rotation for the Stanford Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship and works closely with trainees from both the Stanford PM&R and Psychiatry programs. She is passionate about neurologic rehab across the continuum of care and is a dedicated advocate for veterans and service members living with acquired brain injuries. Her professional interests include improving patient and family education, transitions of care, spasticity management, and enhancing the resident/fellow educational experience. She has publications in the areas of general TBI management, complicated mild TBI, aphasia treatment, medication cost, and the role of telehealth in spasticity management.
