Resident
Atrium Heath Carolinas Rehabilitation PM&R Residency Program
My name is Keshav Godha, M.D, and I am currently in my PGY-3 at Carolinas Rehabilitation for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency. I studied at the University of Florida for my undergraduate education (go Gators!) and then at Florida Atlantic University for medical school. I then completed my intern year at Broward Health and am now in my PM&R residency.
My passion for medicine can be embodied in integrative/functional medicine and musculoskeletal care. Throughout my early medical education, I have always been sensitive to the gaps in the Western medicine perspective of healing. Whether it was addressing the emotional or spiritual aspects of care, I felt as though there was a more subtle source of healing that we were overlooking. Through my own personal experience with Yoga and Ayurveda I began to understand that the source of this healing lies within all of us. Further attenuated by my experiences in residency, I learned that other forms of healing such as osteopathic techniques, TCM, including acupuncture and Tai Chi, botanicals, etc can play a role in the holistic healing of an individual. As I learned and integrated these practices into my life, they have nurtured my body, mind, and soul and have played a pivotal role in the person I am today. Looking forward, I’m hoping to create a practice where I can combine these modalities with Western medicine to create better education on how to truly care for our bodies.
In my spare time, you can find me outdoors with my wife and our sassy, senior dog, Sofie. I also enjoy cooking, caring for my plants, and other mindful activities. I’ve also been told I make the best chai but I guess you’ll have to decide that for yourself if we meet!
