Sajid A. Surve, DO, FAOCPMR is an Associate Professor with the UNTHSC Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is also Co-Director of the UNT Texas Center for Performing Arts Health (http://tcpah.unt.edu), and Program Director for the UNTHSC Performing Arts Medicine Fellowship. Dr. Surve is a 2005 graduate of the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine (formerly known as UMDNJ-SOM). After completing a Traditional Rotating Internship with Delaware County Memorial Hospital in Drexel Hill, PA, Dr. Surve moved to New York to study Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Long Beach Medical Center (now Mercy Medical Center). Upon completion of residency he returned to New Jersey to complete a Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine/Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine fellowship at RowanSOM, where he then joined the faculty. Dr. Surve left RowanSOM to join the UNTHSC team in 2014.
Dr. Surve is currently board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and neuromusculoskeletal medicine, and holds a certificate of additional qualification in pain medicine. Dr. Surve also received Medical Acupuncture certification through the Helms Medical Institute via the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. Throughout his career, Dr. Surve has distinguished himself as an educator and leader. He has given lectures at the local, regional, and national levels on various topics including osteopathic manipulation, medical acupuncture, complementary and alternative therapies, responsible opioid prescribing, and performing arts medicine.
