Dr. Colin Franz is a physician-scientist specializing in neuromuscular medicine and electrodiagnostic medicine. He directs the electrodiagnostic laboratory at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab and works as a physician at the Lois Insolia ALS clinic at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. His research focuses on peripheral nerve injuries, ALS, neuromuscular ultrasound, and personalized rehabilitation using advanced technology in studies ranging from neural organoids made from stem cells all the way to human subject research. His research is actively supported by NIH, NSF, and foundation grant funding.
