Kemly Philip, MD, PhD, MBE, is a fellowship-trained, interventional pain specialist focusing on the management of spine, musculoskeletal disorders, and electrodiagnostic medicine.
Dr. Philip received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in bioengineering from Rice University followed by her medical degree and doctorate in philosophy from the Medical Scientist Training Program at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center UTHealth Houston Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. She then completed her physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at McGovern Medical School where she served as academic chief resident from 2020-2021. She went on to complete her fellowship in pain medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Aurora, Colorado before joining the esteemed faculty as assistant professor at McGovern Medical School. Dr. Philip is double board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in physical medicine and rehabilitation and pain medicine. Ultimately, as an interventional pain physician-scientist, she hopes to translate her background in bioengineering and research to create novel diagnostic and therapeutic treatments for patients suffering from pain.
