Session Description: For Cancer Rehabilitation to continue to grow as a field, it is crucial for physiatrists to perform research to improve clinical care and validate the value of cancer rehabilitation related interventions. As research is not always a skill that is honed in PM&R training, and cancer rehabilitation research has unique challenges, it is important that cancer physiatrists have the opportunity to learn how to become involved in research and gain mentorship in conducting research. This session will highlight several cancer physiatrists who are involved in research at various institutions and are at different stages in their careers. Through scripted questions delivered by the moderators to the panelists, attendees will learn how these physicians began their research careers, how they identified mentors/resources/funding, and what they wish they knew earlier in their careers.

Identify potential resources and relevant stakeholders for research funding
Learn strategies to partner with collaborators outside of physiatry and engage in multidisciplinary research teams

Develop an understanding of multi-site trials and how to work together across institutions
