The Foundation of PM&R, 2021 Dr. Molnar Research Grant Award recipient will present outcome variables and results from the prior two years of study. An expert in the Field of Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine (PRM) will then lead a Q and A, encouraging productive audience participation. The 2023 best article from the Journal of Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine will be presented followed by the Jacob A. Neufeld Award presentation to the authors. As a compliment to the research presentations, Dr. Terry Massagli from Seattle Children's Hospital and 2022 Dr. Molnar Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient, will present. The presentation will focus on the State of the Field for PRM, positive and evolving trends, lessons learned over a an accomplished medical career, while highlighting future pathways to success. The session will end with further Q and A facilitating audience participation and open discussion.

Learning Objectives:

  • Practice evidence based and informed physiatric care for the child and young adult with physical disability.
  • Discuss recent research relevant to physiatrists specializing in Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine.
  • Articulate trends and health care gaps in Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine with an emphasis on traumatic brain injury and equity in rehabilitation therapy.
  • Review opportunities for advocacy, team collaboration, professional success and physician wellness within changing healthcare and social environments.
